Functional Description with Process Diagrams
5.2.3.3 Required Parameters
5.2.3.4 Purging After Operation
If 'Purge fuel train' is active then all the fuel valves are closed after the burner ON signal has
been removed, i.e. the burner is commanded off. The atomiser valve remains active and the
oil valve is set to its purge position. The spark igniter and pilot valve are then activated and
once the flame has been established the stabilisation timer is started and run. Pilot flame mon-
itoring is active during this period. The pilot flame or main flame must be lit during purge op-
eration. The purge process is only started once a flame has been established.
The function can be used only if CMS is configured to ’Start with pilot burner’.
After the stabilisation time t2 for the pilot flame is complete (P 310), the system waits until the
oil actuator has reached the purge position.
P 812 = 0
→
the parameter set purge duration t3 (P 810) starts, while the actuators move to
the programmed special point ’Purge oil gun’.
P 812 = 1
→
The programmed special point ’Purge oil gun’ is moved to before the time t3 ex-
pires. .
After the expiry of t3, the purge valve and atomiser valve are closed. The spark igniter and
pilot valve are also deactivated. The burner sequencer transitions to the mode OFF.
NOTICE
If the burner should reach low fire before purging, the control release must be removed before
the switch-off command and the time taken for the burner to reach base fire must be waited
out.
