Current Measurement Protection Fuse
The internal current measurement terminals I2A or I50A or COM do not have any fusing.
Be sure to provide adequate external fusing appropriate for your application to ensure
the input measurement limits for these terminals are not exceeded. Failure to do so may
result in fire and/or damage to the instrument.
Do Not Operate in an Explosive Atmosphere
This instrument is not designed to be operated in an explosive environment. The instru-
ment enclosure complies with the IP20 rating.
In Case of Damage
An instrument that appears damaged or defective should be turned off, unplugged, and
secured against unintended operation until qualified service personnel can repair it.
Self-Test
Before measuring any hazardous voltage or current, remove all test leads to the instru-
ment, and run both self-tests from the front panel. Press the [Utility] hard key, and then
the ‘Service’ soft key to navigate to the self-test options. Run the Hardware Self-Test by
pressing the ‘Hardware Self-Test’ soft key. After this test is completed, run the Inter-
active Self-Test by pressing the ‘Interactive Self-Test’ soft key. If either Self-Test fails,
the instrument should be turned off, unplugged, and secured against unintended oper-
ation until qualified service personnel can repair it.
Measuring AC Power Mains
The U+ and U- input terminals, I2A and I50A input terminals and IEXT input terminals
may be connected to AC mains power in IEC Category II installations for line voltages
up to 1000 VAC. To avoid the danger of electric shock, do not connect the inputs to AC
mains power for line voltages above 1000 VAC. Do not use this instrument for per-
forming measurements in Measuring Category III or IV environments. See the section
titled “IEC Measurement Category II” for further information.
