Measurement Statistics
To display measurement statistics, press
[Measure] > Statistics > Display On
. By default
frequency and peak-to-peak voltage are measured on channel 1.
The source channel of the measurement is shown in parenthesis after the measurement name.
For example: "
Freq(V1)
" indicates a frequency measurement on voltage channel 1. Statistics are
based on the number of captured waveforms (count).
The Measurement Statistics Menu
Pressing
[Measure] > Statistics
opens the Measurement Statistics Menu:
Press
Reset Statistics
to reset all statistics and begin recording statistical data again. Adding a
new measurement (for example: frequency, period, or amplitude) resets statistics and begins
accumulating statistical data again.
Press
Relative
σ
to divide each standard deviation by its associated mean.
Press
Max Count
to specify the number of values used when calculating measurement
statistics. For a limitless count, press
MAX
on the popup keypad.
Additional facts about measurement statistics
Pressing
[Single]
resets statistics and performs one measurement. Successive
[Single]
acquisitions accumulate statistical data and increment the count.
The
Increment Statistics
softkey only appears when the acquisition is stopped. Press
[Single]
or
[Run/Stop]
to stop the acquisition. Use the horizontal position control (in the Horizontal
control section of the front panel) to pan through the waveform. Active measurements will stay
on screen, allowing you to measure various aspects of the captured waveforms. Press
Increment Statistics
to add the currently measured waveform to the collected statistical data.
