File Explorer
The File Explorer navigates the instrument's internal file system and connected USB storage
devices. You can load setup files from 10 locations in the internal file system. From a USB
storage device, you can load and delete setup files (*.ipa), firmware update (*.kup) files, label
files, and so on.
You can connect USB flash memory devices to the front-panel USB ports. The
square receptacle on the rear panel labeled "USB" is for controlling the instrument
over USB.
To use the File Explorer, press
[Utility] > File Explorer
. Then press the first softkey and use the
Entry
knob to navigate. You can also use the touchscreen to navigate through the directory
structure and select files.
The first softkey can have these labels:

Press to go
— when you can push the
[Entry]
knob to navigate to a new folder or storage
location.
l
Location
— when pointing to a directory that is currently selected.
l
Selected
— when pointing to a file that can be loaded or deleted. Press
Load File
or
Delete
File
to take action. Pushing the
[Entry]
knob is the same as pressing
Load File
.
Once you have selected a file, you can press the
Load File
or
Delete File
softkeys to perform the
corresponding actions. If you load a firmware update (*.kup) file, the instrument will reboot.
