Energy
The Energy analysis provides several energy consumption measurements , and it always uses
fixed ranging for both voltage and current.
For optimal results, press
[1]
or
[2]
(or
[3]
or
[4]
on the PA2203A), and then press
Ranging > Ranging Mode > Fixed
and select the smallest appropriate fixed voltage and current
measurements ranges for your signal. If either fixed measurement range is too small, you will see
an error message saying, "Energy data questionable due to high signal(s) during test."
To configure and run the analysis:
1.
Press
[Analyze] > Analysis > Energy
.
2.
Press the
Source
softkey and select the source channel to analyze.
3.
Press the
Duration
softkey and specify the length of time to make the measurements.
4.
Press the
Strip Chart
softkey and configure the three strip chart parameters:
a.
Press the
Strip Chart Type
softkey and choose the units for your results.
You can always change the units during or after the analysis, so this is actually an
optional step.
b.
Use the
X1
and
X2
softkeys to specify the horizontal positions of the measurement
markers (in seconds). Again, you can change these values when the analysis is complete,
so this is also optional.
5.
Press the
CWA Setup
softkey and configure CWA as usual.
6.
Press the
Start Meas
softkey to start measuring the Energy analysis parameters.
While the analysis is running, the measurements in the sidebar update. You can press the
Reset
Meas
softkey to stop the analysis without clearing the measurements.
