NOTE: To access the J-Web interface, your management device requires a supported browser:
either Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7.0 or Mozilla Firefox version 3.0 (or later).
When the services gateway is powered on for the first time, the system looks for a DHCP server. If it does
not find one, it assigns an IP address within the 192.168.1.0/24 network to any device connected to it.
To connect to the J-Web interface through the port labeled 0/1 (interface ge-0/0/1) on the services
gateway, see Figure 25 on page 99 .

1. From the management device (such as a desktop or laptop computer) that you use to access the J-Web
interface, verify that the address of the port that you connect to the services gateway is set to one of
the following:
•
Ethernet address on the 192.168.1.0/24 network (other than 192.168.1.1)
•
Ethernet address from a DHCP server
2. Turn off the power to the management device.
3. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable ( Figure 26 on page 100 shows the connector) into the Ethernet port
on the management device.
