Product Introduction
This manual briefly introduces the EonStor (ES) S12F-R1432/G1433
Fibre-to-SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) subsystem that houses either
SAS or SATA-II drives. The 12-bay model comes with four (4) (S12F-
R1432) or two (2) (S12F-
G1433) 4Gb/s host
channels and twelve (12)
hot-swappable
SAS/SATA-II disk drives
in a 2U chassis. The
subsystem is powered by
Infortrend’s proprietary ASIC400 RAID engine. By default, each RAID
controller comes with a pre-installed 512MB DDR RAM DIMM
module. Each 4Gb/s Fibre channel is capable of delivering data at
the speed of 400MB/s. A common backplane provides fault-tolerant
data paths across dual-ported SAS disk drives.
The subsystem is ideal for high performance and high availability
storage applications, and is highly scalable via the 4x multi-lane SAS
expansion port(s). Terabytes of expansion capacity can be added via
the SAS SFF-8088 expansion links to expansion enclosures.
