NetWare Client is Novell’s version of client software. When you
select NetWare Client, you are asked for the directory in which it
is to be installed, whether to update CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT (default is yes), and for the name of the
Windows directory.
DOS LAN Services (DLS)
DLS is the DOS client software for IBM LAN servers When you
select DLS you are asked for the following:
Machine ID
User Name
Domain Name
Full, Basic, or Virtual Redirector
When DLS is selected, NetBIOS and 802.2 are automatically
selected as well.
NetBIOS (Network Basic I/O System)
When you select NetBIOS, you are given an opportunity to
change the values for Station, Session, Commands, and Names.
See “NetBIOS Device Driver Parameters” on page 7-5. When
you select NetBIOS, 802.2 is selected automatically.
802.2
Choose 802.2 when you are using the IEEE 802.2 protocol on
your LAN.
When you select 802.2 you are asked whether to force Primary
(Adapter 0) or Alternate (Adapter 1). If you do not force a
selection, then the adapters are assigned in the order in which
their drivers are loaded. If only one 802.2 adapter is present, it
is Primary. When a second is added, it is Alternate. With this
option you can force the first adapter to Alternate when there is
only one, or you can make the the second adapter Primary and
the first Alternate.
IBM LAN Client MPS supports a maximum of
two adapters.
TCP/IP (Transmission Control Program/Internet Protocol)
Choose TCP/IP when you are using the TCP/IP protocol on your
network.
