Steps 4 through 8 describe how to configure the server and LAN
Driver to load automatically each time the server is started.
4. From the server console prompt, enter load install.
5. From within the server installation options program, select the
menu item that will allow you to edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF file or
that will allow you to create one if it does not exist.
6. Edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF file and add statements that load the
LAN driver and bind the NetWare IPX** protocol driver to the
EtherJet Adapter LAN driver. The following example illustrates
the statements to be added for a single network adapter.
MOUNT ALL
LOAD C:\NETWARE\PATCHMAN.NLM
LOAD C:\NETWARE\LSLENH.NLM
LOAD C:\NETWARE\MSM31X.NLM
LOAD C:\NETWARE\ETHERTSM.NLM
LOAD C:\NETWARE\IBMEINWS.LAN SERIAL=<serial number>
BIND IPX to IBMEINWS NET=<network hex number>
The BIND statement must follow the LOAD statements. A
unique hexadecimal number must be assigned for each LAN.
(Consult your network administrator.) If you have two adapters,
see the following example:
MOUNT ALL
.
.
.
LOAD C:\NETWARE\IBMEIWS.LAN SERIAL=<serial number> NAME=FIRST
LOAD C:\NETWARE\IBMEIWS.LAN SERIAL=<serial number> NAME=SECOND
BIND IPX to FIRST NET=<unique network hex number>
BIND IPX to SECOND NET=<unique network hex number>
See Table 6-2 on page 6-5 for a list of parameters that can be
used on the LOAD IBMEINWS command line above.
7. Save changes to the AUTOEXEC.NCF file and exit the server
installation options program.
8. Shut down the server by entering down at the server console
prompt and then entering exit.
9. Restart the server by entering server. Indicators that show you
installation is successful are listed here:
