Installation of IBM LAN Client MPS Using LANAID 2.0
Installing IBM LAN Client MPS and the Protocol Drivers
1. Start LANAID 2.0 from the LANAID 2.0 diskette or from the
directory where you have stored a copy. Remember, LANAID
2.0 must be run from DOS or from a DOS full screen of Windows
or OS/2.
2. The first panel is presented with the MAC Address at the top and
three push buttons in the center. Select the Software push
button.
3. In the drop-down list at the top of this panel, display the list of
operating systems by clicking on the down arrow at the right.
Highlight your choice of operating system with a single click.
The default is DOS/Windows.
To install IBM LAN Client MPS using LANAID 2.0, the only valid
choices are:
DOS with Windows 3.10 or higher
DOS (without Windows)
Windows for Workgroups v3.11
4. If you have chosen an operating system that works with IBM
LAN Client MPS, a list of software options is presented in the
center of the panel. Select IBM LAN Client MPS Install.
At this time the Express and the Custom push buttons are active.
You can choose Express to have the LANAID program install
IBM LAN Client MPS using the defaults provided for your adapter
type and operating system.
If you choose Express the installation of IBM LAN Client MPS
will be completed automatically, with all default values selected.
All protocol stacks are loaded.
If you want to customize parameters for your IBM LAN Client MPS
installation, select Custom.
The IBM LAN Client MPS Install panel displays a selection box with
the following choices:
