Chapter 4: Viewing and changing Aptiva configuration
Power on time
When you enable the Automatic Power On option, use
the Power On Time option to specify the time at which
you want your computer to turn itself on.
Enter the date in the format shown on the screen. Enter
the time in 24-hour format (hours and minutes). For
example:

12 midnight is
00:00
•
12 noon is
12:00
•
1 p.m. is
13:00
Rapid Resume advanced options
Select this option to open the Rapid Resume Advanced
Options menu. In this menu, you can define which
devices your computer checks to determine whether
you are using your computer. You can also control how
the on/off button on your system unit works with the
Rapid Resume feature.
Check keyboard and mouse activity
Use this option to specify whether your computer
checks the keyboard and the mouse to determine
whether you are using your computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while you
are using the keyboard or the mouse. You can also
return to your desktop from Standby if you press a key
on the keyboard or move the mouse.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while you are using the keyboard or the mouse.
Check hard disk and CD-ROM activity
Use this option to specify whether your computer
checks all hard disk and CD-ROM drives to determine
whether you are using your computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while any
hard disk or CD-ROM drive is active. If your computer
enters Standby, it will return to the desktop when one of
the drives becomes active.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while any hard disk or CD-ROM drive is active.
Check serial port activity
Use this option to specify whether your computer
checks serial ports A and B to determine whether you
are using your computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while
serial port A or serial port B is active. If your computer
enters Standby, it will return to the desktop when either
of these ports becomes active.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while either serial port is active.
