5.1. Special Ways for Axes Use
5.1.1. Standard Driver Control
An axis connected to the XSEL unit which should be ordinary treated as a standard motion control
axis can be changed to an extension motion control axis. By this way of use, the XSEL unit axis
can be operated as a slave axis for electronic shaft synchronization and electronic cam
synchronization. However, it disables the axis to operate with commands for standard motion
such as MOVP.
Indicate as the axis subject to control
of Extension Motion Control Axis No. 0
Operate as “Standard Motion Control
Axis No. 2”
Operate as “Extension Motion Control
Axis No. 0”
Before Setting
After Setting
Axis No.2
Also, when it is indicated for the standard driver control, “Extension Motion Control Each Axis
Parameters” will not make any influence to the axis settings except for No. 1 “Axis Use Method”
and No. 18 “Control Device No.”. Have the parameter settings which rely on the standard driver
control axes conducted in “Each Axes Parameters” and “Driver Parameters” of the axes subject to
control.
Caution
(1) An axis indicated for the standard driver control will become unavailable for operation with
the standard motion control commands. The axis indicated as the operation axis for the
standard motion control commands will be treated as an invalid axis, and may cause
Error No. C7F “No Valid Axis Indication Error” in some cases.
(2) The axes listed next cannot be indicated as the subject to standard driver control.
• SCARA axis
• Rotation Shortcut Control Valid Axis
• Infinite Stroke Mode Axis
• Synchro Slave Axis
• ZR Unit Axis (except when setting in
Each Axis Parameter No. 109 is 0)
