5.17 Combiner Removal (3-Phase Supply)
!
WARNING:
DISCONNECT AND LOCKOUT PRIMARY POWER AT THE AC SOURCE PRIOR TO
PERFORMING ANY CONNECTIONS, REPAIRS, OR MAINTENANCE INSIDE THE
TRASNMITTER.
The following procedure is for the removal of the hybrid in the Z16HD+ transmitter
equipped with a 3-phase power supply. If you have a single phase supply refer to "5.18
Combiner Removal (Single Phase Supply)" on page 5-34.
STEP 1
Turn the transmitter off from the front panel and turn the low voltage
circuit breaker off, and disconnect the AC power to the transmitter at the
wall breaker or fused disconnect.
STEP 2
Remove the lower front power supply access panel. Remove the fan
assembly by removing six screws and two nuts. Slowly slide the
assembly to the side being careful of the interconnect wiring.
Disconnect the connector and then completely remove the assembly
from the transmitter.
STEP 3
Remove the power supply securing hardware.
STEP 4
Disconnect cable W21. Cable W21 is the gray ribbon cable with orange
connector located on the front, right rectifier board.
STEP 5
Locate the large gray Wago block A17TB1 in the lower front center of
the power supply chassis. A17TB1 numbering is 1 through 8 read from
left to right. Disconnect the following wires: #1 from terminal 1, #2
from terminal 3, #3 from terminal 5, #40 from terminal 7, and #41 from
terminal 8.
STEP 6
Remove the orange DC ground cables numbered 46, 260, 60, and 246
from the ground studs located under the front top lip of the power supply
compartment.
STEP 7
Remove the orange DC output cables from their respective feed-through
capacitors: 252 from C8, 245 from C7, 52 from C4, and 45 from C3.
STEP 8
While holding the disconnected cables out of the way slowly pull the
power supply chassis approximately half way out of the cabinet. Use
care not to catch other cabling.
STEP 9
Disconnect the blue ribbon cables W11, W211, and W212 from the
rectifier boards.
