NetWave Sample Rate
The NetWave console uses the professional audio sample rate of 48 kHz for all its internal audio mixing and
routing. Each digital input has an integral sample rate converter to convert incoming sample rates from 25
to 50 kHz to the console’s internal 48 kHz sample rate.
You can set the console’s digital outputs for either 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz output through the multi-switch
settings on the Monitor & Output board (Figure 2-18).
When used in a standalone application, the console cannot be locked to an external sample rate reference. If
the console needs to be locked, it must be networked with a VistaMax system. The NetWave console is
automatically synchronized to the VistaMax system’s master clock, which can be externally referenced. Both
the VistaMax (PRE75-52) and Envoy (PRE75-55) manuals give details on this application.
Audio Connections
There are 18 dedicated analog and digital inputs and outputs on the Monitor & Output card (Figure 2-32).
Connections include
●
Separate analog and digital outputs for four Program buses.
(Analog PGM 4 can alternately be set as a local Telco Record output.)
●
Analog inputs for two External Monitor signals.
●
Two analog mono mix-minus with IFB outputs.
●
Three analog monitor outputs for the control room (monitor, host headphone, and guest headphone).
●
Three monitor outputs for a studio (monitor, host headphone, and guest headphone).

Each DSP card (Figure 2-33) has eight analog and eight digital inputs that are assigned as sources using the
DSP setup controls. (Figure 2-21 shows DSP card callouts with additional button and LED details.) When the
VistaMax Link is activated, one input (either analog or digital) from each channel is set as a VistaMax source
that can be routed to other VistaMax community members. Likewise, each channel source can be set to use
a routed signal from the VistaMax system as its input. Section 4 – “Linked NetWave Consoles” gives
additional details.

Any analog or digital input connector can be set to function as two mono inputs rather than as a combined
stereo signal by changing its Mode setting.
