mode allows one set of parameters to be set and then stored, as required, to multiple sources.
●
Active Channel Number & Source Indicators — The 7-segment Channel display shows the active
channel number, and the lit A or B LED indicates the active source. Press Channel Up
or Channel Down
to step sequentially through the channels (1 to 8) and their sources
(A or B). The channel numbers wrap around; for example, pressing Channel
at Source
8B goes to Source 1A, and vice versa. A decimal point is lit when Parameter Copy Mode is
active. Both the A and B LEDs light on Dual Router and Dual Selector panels, since those
fader channels only have one source—the routed input.
●
Source: Input — Press this button to select the audio input for the active
channel source:
•
Analog – the channel’s local analog input
•
Digital – the channel’s local digital input
•
Net Audio – a routed source with no logic control
•
Net Audio with Logic – a routed source with logic control
The two Net Audio selections are only available when the console’s VistaMax
Enabled and Linked labels are lit on the Monitor panel, indicating the
NetWave console is networked with a VistaMax system.
●
Mode — Press this button to select how the selected audio input feeds the active channel:
•
Stereo – Use this default setting with stereo sources like CD players.
•
Mono – Use this setting to sum the left and right inputs to a mono signal that
then feeds both the left and right channels of the fader. This setting is typically
used: a) on a call recorder, where the caller is recorded on one channel and the
talent is recorded on the other channel, and b) for news or mono AM broadcast
applications, where all audio coming into the console is set for mono sum.
•
Left & Right – These settings allow two mono sources to connect on one input connector. One
typical application is connecting two mics to one channel, which allows a guest mic in the control
room and a guest mic in a studio to connect to the same channel input. The control room guest mic
preamps would typically connect to the Left input and be set as the A Source, while the studio
guest mic preamp would connect to the Right input and be set as the B Source. When the channel
source is on A, the control room guest mic is active. When channel source is on B, the studio guest
mic is active.
●
Function — Press this button to set the type of signal to be connected to the channel source. These
settings directly affect monitor output muting; mix-minus outputs; and the channel, control room, and
studio Logic I/O signals.
•
Line In – When no Function LED is lit, the signal is defined as a line input
device (such as CD player, MD player, computer playback system, Shortcut,
Instant Replay, World Feed Panel input, and so forth). With this type of
Function, the channel does not mute any monitor output when turned on.
•
CR MIC – This setting defines the signal as a control room mic. When the
channel is turned on, the CR Monitor output mutes and the control room
warning command is activated.
•
CR MIC TLK SRC (Talk Source) – This setting also defines the signal as a
control room mic, with the same muting and logic features as the CR MIC
setting. But, the CR MIC TLK SRC setting further defines the audio input as the source feeding the
console talkback to the studio and to callers/remotes. Multiple CR mics can be set as CR MIC TLK
SRC, but this setting is typically limited to the board operator mic and a producer mic. The CR MICs
