SelecType
The first chapter displayed some samples of the typestyles avail able
on the LX- S O. This chapter shows how Epson's SelecType fe at u re
enables you to use the most-used print modes with a few fin ger-
pr es ses on the panel buttons of the LX-SO. You can chang e t h e
printing from
to th e mor e detailed
Near Letter Quality (NLQ) mode
or a n y of seve ral other possibilities.
Choosing Print Modes
Th e LX-SO printer's many print modes give you a wide choic e of
width , weight , and style of characters. You can activate these m odes
in s e v eral different ways, depending on your needs and the cap abili-
tie s of y our s oftware. The most common ways include placing p r i nt -
in g c od e s in y our document, using a programming language suc h as
BASIC , and giving print commands as part of the printing inst ruc -
tions for y our software.
Howe v er , these methods are not always convenient and softw are
does not always allow you to make the changes you want to obt ain
the full fa c ilities. The SelecType feature overcomes such probl ems
and i s th e e asiest way to choose print modes on the LX-SO . This
f ea tur e ch a nges the function of the three buttons on top of the
print e r-ON LINE , FF , and LF . After turning on the Selec Type
mod e, y ou can use the buttons to choose one or more of six sep arate
f unctions. The functions include five typestyles and a reset cod e.
