Now the LX-S Ohas been set to print in condensed mode , pr ess the
ON LINE butt on to put the printer back on line and list th e prog-
ram once more. It s hould print in condensed mode just as in the
example below:

Try this exercise with o th e r mod es . Th e e as ie s t wa y to r eset the
modes at this s t a ge i s to switch th e printer off a nd on ag ain. It is
possible to rese t it using Sel ec Type, as described in App e n dix F.

resetting wipes o ut w h a t eve r yo u h ave don e with Sel e cT ype. But
don't worry if yo ur so ft wa r e r ese t s th e print e r ; y ou can still use

Print it in the us u a l way. S ave thi s first copy for c ompari s on with the
next versions y ou print . Your te s t can be as simple a s our example
below, a two- l i n e d o cum e nt created with a word proce ssor and
printed with its s t a nd a rd print command.
Now set the LX -SOfor elite printing using the following st e p s .
1) See that bot h th e ON LINE a nd READY light s are on .
2) Press the O N LINE and FF buttons at the same time.
3) Depress the ON LINE button five times (the code for elit e). You
should hear a b ee p each time you press the button.
4) Press the FF button to s et elit e.
5) Press the L F button to l ea v e SelecType and return th e panel
buttons to t hei r standard functions.
