3.3.4.8 CONFIGURATION

Communication

UDP server
UDP stands for User Datagram Protocol. The analyzer network communication runs only under this
protocol.
UDP applications use datagram sockets to establish host-to-host communications.
These sockets bind the application to service ports that function as the endpoints of the data
transmission. A port is a software structure that is identified by a port number. Two different ports can
be bind to the analyzer: Port A and Port B. They are identified by two different corresponding port
numbers (8003 and 8001 for example).
Port fields : the numbers of Port A and Port B of the UDP server are programmable from 1000 to 9999
Address fields : they are programmable with 4 characters, the analyzer’s name is used by default.
Protocole fields: the user can choose different types of protocols: Mode4, JBUS, and PRN. In the last
case (PRN), the IP address of the computer has to be entered.
