Climate for use
The continuous operating temperature of the product (in
dry condition) ranges from approx. –30°C to +60°C.
Service life and replacement
The service life of the product essentially depends on the
type and frequency of application as well as on external
influences.
Maximum service life
is achieved under optimum sto-
rage conditions (see storage) and without use: metal
parts: unlimited.
Occasional use:
With occasional proper use, without
traceable wear and given optimum storage conditions:
10 years
Frequent or extreme use, fall loading (fall factor >1):
With frequent use or high work load, e. g. use with con-
taminated ropes, the service life may be shortened sub-
stantially, it may even drop below two years.
Generally, the product must be withdrawn from use im-
mediately if it has been subjected to a fall or shows signs
of damage; it shall then be turned over to a qualified
person or the manufacturer for inspection and/or repair
including a written certification.
Remove the product from service immediately if any of
the following applies
• fall and impact from great height,
• extreme grooving and/or deformation,
• sharp edges have formed due to abrasion,
• visible damages or impaired function
Inspection
The product must be inspected and serviced as needed,
but at least yearly by the manufacturer, a qualified per-
son or an authorised inspection agency. Among other
considerations, the readability of the product identifica-
tion must be checked. If the service life of 10 years is
exceeded, the PPE product must be removed from use.
Repairs must be performed exclusively by the manufactu-
rer or a service partner authorised by the manufacturer.
Any manipulation of the screwed joints on the unit is
forbidden, such work must be performed exclusively by
the manufacturer or a service partner authorised by the
manufacturer.
