2.10 Hygiene control functions
2.10.1 Hygiene control functions of the condensate pump
Via MATRIX 3500 regulation (control code D5.###.## on name plate) the conden-
sate pump pumps residual water out of the condensate pan every 24 hours for 15
seconds whether or not the unit is switched on or off, but not if the unit is in heating
mode. The function can be adjusted using the service tool MATRIX.PC.
After completion of cooling mode, a condensate pump run-on is activated to pump
residual water out of the condensate pan if a MATRIX 3500 control system is in
use. The run-on time is about three minutes and can be adjusted via MATRIX.PC
service tool. Hygiene units (unit type code GC#.H##.###) that operate a 15-min-
ute fan run-on time after finishing cooling mode start the pump run-out with a 12-
minute time delay, so that pump and fan run-on time end at the same time.
2.10.2 Hygiene control system of the fan
After every cooling mode a standard fan run-on time is provided for applications
of a MATRIX 3500 control system (control code D5.###.## on name plate). If a
fan is switched off on the control panel or via the building management system,
the fan will work another 15 minutes at lowest speed. This procedure blows the
remaining condensate out of the heat exchanger, which improves the hygienic
operation.
The run-on time can be adjusted via MATRIX.PC service tool. For example, for
units that have been adapted thermodynamically for dry cooling, it is possible to
change the run-on to 0 seconds.
NOTICE!
For applications with a control system on-site, the condensate pump run-on
must be provided on-site if hygienic conformity is required (VDI 6022, SWKI VA
104-1).
