Steering and Front Suspension

GENERAL INFORMATION
Steering is controlled through a rack and pinion steering assembly that is connected by a steering column to a steering
wheel. No manual adjustment to the rack and pinion gear assembly is required. A spring loaded self-adjusting
mechanism is incorporated into the assembly.

Steering Wheel Puller Tool
NOTE:
Refer to the Illustrated Parts Catalog for service tool part numbers.
1.
Disable the vehicle.
2.
Electric Vehicle:
Disconnect the batteries and discharge the controller.
Gasoline Vehicle:
Disconnect battery and spark plug wire.
3.
Rotate steering wheel to a straight ahead position.
CAUTION
• Do not turn the steering until the steering wheel has been installed.
4.
Remove the screws (1)
