To assign a spectrum group to a single upstream on a cable interface line card, use the
cable upstream
spectrum-group
command in interface configuration
mode. To remove a spectrum group from an
upstream, use the
no
form of this command.

This command assigns a spectrum group to a single upstream on the cable interface line card. To
configure the spectrum groups, use the set of
cable spectrum-group
commands in global configuration
mode.
Note
You can also spectrum groups to all of the upstreams on the cable interface using the
cable spectrum-
group (interface configuration)
command.
Examples
The following example shows how to assign spectrum group 12 to the first upstream on the cable
interface line card in slot 5/0:
Router(config)#
interface cable 5/0
Router(config-if)#
cable upstream 0 spectrum-group 12
Router(config-if)#
exit
Router(config)#

Specifies the upstream port number. Valid values start with 0 for the first upstream
port on the cable interface line card.
group-number
Specifies the spectrum group for which you are specifying a parameter value or
specifies the number of the spectrum group you wish to remove from your router
configuration. Valid range is from 1 to 32, or from 1 to 40, depending on the
Cisco IOS software release.
