To configure LLDP MED on each port:
STEP 1

This page displays the following LLDP MED settings for all ports (only fields not described in
the
Edit
page are listed):
•
User Defined Network Policy
—Policies are defined for types of traffic (called
application). This is defined in the
. In this case, the
following information is displayed for the policy on the port:

Active
—Is the type of traffic active on the port.
-
Application
—Type of traffic for which the policy is defined.
•
Location
—Whether Location TLV is transmitted.
•
PoE
—Whether PoE-PSE TLV is transmitted.
•
Inventory
—Whether Inventory TLV is transmitted.
STEP 2
The message at the top of the page indicates whether the generation of the LLDP MED
Network Policy for the voice application is automatic or not (see
). Click on
the link to change the mode.
STEP 3
To associate additional LLDP MED TLV and/or one or more user-defined LLDP MED
Network Policies to a port, select it, and click
Edit.
STEP 4
Enter the parameters:
•
Interface
—Select the interface to configure.
•
LLDP MED Status
—Enable/disable LLDP MED on this port.
•
SNMP Notification
—Select whether SNMP notification is sent on a per-port basis
when an end station that supports MED is discovered; for example a SNMP managing
system, when there is a topology change.
•
Selected Optional TLVs
—Select the TLVs that can be published by the device by
moving them from the
Available Optional TLVs
list to the Selected Optional TLVs list.
•
Selected Network Policies
—Select the LLDP MED policies to be published by LLDP
by moving them from the
Available Network Policies
list to the
Selected Network
Policies
list. These were created in the
.
To include
one or more user-defined network polices in the advertisement, you must also select
Network Policy
from the
Available Optional TLVs
.
