Configure, download, and install software updates from On

Remote Service

Introduction

When you configured the download and installation of operating system updates from On
Remote Service, the print server behaves as follows:
• Once a day the printer searches for new operating system or PRISMAsync updates at midnight.

NOTE

If the system is offline or shut down at midnight, the updates will be checked for
again the next day.

When the operating system updates are discovered by the printer, it is not possible to make a
selection of the found updates. All found updates are downloaded or installed depending on the
configuration. During the download or installation, the printer remains operational. To finalize the
installation, you must restart the system.

Before you begin

Ensure that [Remote connection] is enabled on the printer:
1. On the operator panel, tap on the [System] icon on the right.

NOTE

You must be logged in as a system administrator. See

administrator on page 277

.

2. Tap on [Remote services]

→

[Remote connection]

3. Make sure:

• [Remote connection] is enabled.
• [Remote connection status] is connected.

NOTE

A proxy may be required to access the internet and make use of Remote
services. When required, make sure the proxy settings are configured correctly.
