ASSEMBLY
SADDLE
Unscrew the nut on the seat clamp and place 3 or 4
drops of oil on the threaded screw. Place the smaller
end of the saddle seatpost on the seatpost clamp until
it holds with the screw facing the back of the seat tube.
Screw the nut on the clamp without tightening it. Insert
the larger end of the saddle seatpost in the frame sad-
dle tube, watching the minimum insertion mark on the
seatpost saddle. Place the top of the saddle so that it
becomes parallel to the ground. The toothed parts from
the saddle clamp should dock altogether with the ones
on the saddle frame; push the front of the saddle up and down to align the teeth. Securely tighten the
saddle clamp. Tighten the screws on the seatpost saddle clamp strongly. Place the bike upside down and
support it over the saddle and handlebar. The seat post must be inserted so that the minimum insertion
mark cannot be seen. Check in accordance with page 16.
PEDALS AND CRANKS
Look for the letters “R” for right, and “L” for left, stamped
on each pedal spindle. Start each pedal spindle by hand
to avoid stripping the threads. (Note that the right hand
pedal attaches to the chainwheel side crank arm with a
right-hand (clockwise) thread. The left pedal attaches to
the other crank arm and has a left hand (counter-clock-
wise thread). Tighten with a 15mm narrow open ended
wrench. It is very important that you check the crank
set for correct adjustment and tightness before riding
your bicycle. The new brackets can loosen with the in-
itial use, consult pages 45 to 46 for information about proper setting and maintenance of the brackets
set. After being locked to the pedals, make sure the bracket rotates smoothly and that there is no lateral
movement. Attachment of an incorrect pedal into a crank arm can strip pedal threads and cause irrepara-
ble damage. Before your first ride, please check to ensure your pedals are attached correctly.
FRONT WHEEL
1. Make sure that the brakes are loose enough to allow the wheel to pass through the pads easily.
2. Place the front wheel between the tips of the fork.
3. Install the retention rings with raised edges pointing to the fork and insert them on the small hole in
the leg of the fork.
