Hardware restrictions
To work properly, genlock must work within the following hardware restrictions:
• A genlock card must be present and properly plugged in the graphics
card.
• All genlocked displays must be plugged in when the machine boots,
and they should not be unplugged after that.
• All genlocked displays must be at the same resolution and refresh rate.
If the players and the server are synced by means of an external signal
("Coax"), that signal must share the same resolution and refresh rate.
• The genlock signal must be plugged in and active when enabling genlock
(if not using a display as source).
If for any reason a machine no longer receives the genlock signal, the displays flicker
and genlock disables itself. (This is not due to X-Agora this is how genlock itself behaves).
If the signal is received again, X-Agora does not try to turn on genlock on automatically,
because it makes the displays flicker again. Genlock must be reactivated again by
pressing the "Refresh" button.
Live Input devices
X-Agora supports as many as six sources of live input on your Players. When you drag
a Timeline block for live inputs from the Media pane to a Timeline, you choose the
device to use (SDI 0, SDI 1, SDI 2, SDI3, DVI 0, or DVI 1). Unless you have changed the
mappings, the X-Agora Player opens the input of the matching hardware. You can
choose to override those mappings if, for example, you want SDI 0 to use DVI 0.
X-Agora supports the following live input devices:
• DeltaCast SDI video-capture card: four SDI inputs
• Datapath DVI video-capture card: two DVI inputs
These video capture cards are allowed only if the accompanying licenses are found. If
additional or different live input devices are detected, your Player launches with water-
marks.
