5.12.1.1 Extending the range of the Vario gearbox
If the gear control lever for fine seeds points to a scale value below 10, swap out the bevel gears in
star wheel gearbox 1. Then the same seed rate can be applied with a considerably higher scale value.
The assembly work can be found in the section "Repositioning the bevel gears", Seite 231.
The table (Fig. 55) that shows the install position
of the bevel gears is provided in the control
centre.
Installation position 1 (Fig. 55/1) :
bevel gear (Z=30) on the star wheel shaft
bevel gear (Z=15) on the drive shaft
Installation position 2 (Fig. 55/2) :
bevel gear (Z=15) on the star wheel shaft
bevel gear (Z=30) on the drive shaft.
The installation position of the bevel gears is
marked with the numbers 1 and 2.


If in installation position 1 you are sowing
continuously at scale value 80 or higher, replace
the bevel gears in star wheel gearbox 2 with a
set of new bevel gears (Z=18/18).
Due to this measure, more seed is sown with the
same gearbox setting.
If required, you can order the bevel gears for star
wheel gearbox 2 as spare parts (order number
222921). The installation instructions with the
table (Fig. 57) are provided with the new bevel
gears.
