8.7 TwinTeC double disc coulter
8.7.1 Adjusting and checking the seed placement depth
The seed placement depth can change due to the following factors:

Soil type (light to heavy)

Forward speed

Set seed placement depth .
Check the placement depth when one of the factors has changed.
1. Set the coulter pressure, see section "Coulter pressure, seed rate increase and coulter lift",
page 168 . Particularly on heavy soils, a higher coulter pressure maintains the seed placement
depth more constantly.
2. Adjust the seed placement depth using the
central spanner (Fig. 208), see section
"Seed placement depth (TwinTeC)",
page 90.
3. Seed approx. 30 m to 50 m at working
speed.
4. Expose the seed at a number of points.
5. Check the seed placement depth.
6. Readjust the seed placement depth, as
described above, if the desired seed
placement depth is not reached.
7. Insert the central spanner into the transport
bracket, see section 5.7, page 64.
