2.5.1 

Checking the Densitometer Calibration 

 

 

IMPORTANT: 

The base for a successful Afssaps / EUREF calibration procedure is a perfectly 
calibrated densitometer. 

 

(1)  Check the densitometer calibration as described in the densitomter user manual.  

Example for X-Rite 341: 

•

  Insert calibrated step tablet (part of delivery). 

•

  Check density of step tablet area marked "CAL": This measurement should be 

0.02D of the value marked on the step tablet. 

(2)  Calibrate the densitometer according to the instructions of the manufacturer if 

required. 

 

2.5.2 

Checking the Densitometer Configuration in the Printer 

 

(1) 

Select key-operator menu “1 Show settings – 3 Network/DICOM”. 

(2) 

Write down the printer IP address. 

(3) 

Leave the key-operator menu. 

(4) 

Confirm that the printer is in ready state, i.e. no films are in the printer queue. 

(5) 

Disconnect the network cable at the wall side. 

(6) 

Connect the network cable to the service PC. See NOTE below. 

(7) 

Adapt the service PC network address if required. For details refer to chapter 3.2, 
Tools, section “Connection of the Service PC to the Printer”. 

(8) 

Enter the printer IP address in the browser address window. 

(9) 

Select “Service Engineer Tools”. 

(10)  Select “Enter service command session”. 

(11)  Select menu “1 Show settings – 4 Image Quality”. 

(12)  Confirm, that the configured densitometer is the same like you are using for the 

density measurements. 

(13)  If it is not the same densitometer, adjust it in menu “2 Change settings – 4 Image 

Quality – 1 General”. 

 

NOTE: 
Recent PC models autodetect the type of network connection: The standard network 
cable can be used for connection between printer and PC. 
For PC models which do not autodetect the type of network connection a crossed 
network cable (EB+72010270 or commercially available) is required.
