Chapter 2 Alarm
l
Alarm Information: The alarm is reported if the IF is unlocked due to abnormal external
clock of the IF unit or internal hardware fault.
l
Alarm Level: Critical
l
Alarm Type: Communications Alarm
Sub-code Description
None
Effect on the System
1.
In non-protection mode, traffic is interrupted.
2.
In protection mode:
l
Traffic is interrupted if both active and standby RMUs are unlocked.
l
Switchover is performed if the active RMU is unlocked.
Possible Causes
1.
The IF is unlocked.
2.
The IF circuit is faulty.
Handling Procedure
l
For short-time unlocking:
1.
Detect the alarm and check whether the device is operating normally.
2.
Use the software management software or level recorder to check whether the
fault is caused by attenuation. Check the ODU receiving level.
3.
Check if interference exists. If yes, find out the frequency of the interference
source and change the device frequency.
4.
Adjust the antenna height.
l
For long-time unlocking:
1.
Check whether the ODU frequencies at both ends match each other.
2.
Check whether the configurations of bandwidth and modulation mode are
consistent at both ends.
3.
Check whether the IF output interface of the ODU unit has rated DC voltage. If
yes, it indicates that the IDU is operating normally. If no, replace the IDU.
4.
Check whether the feeder and feeder connector are in good condition.
5.
Check whether the antenna and ODU installation polarization are correct.
6.
Check whether the antenna azimuth deviates from the designed value.
7.
Check whether the link is blocked.
