The Bulk Dump parameter lets yo u initiate bulk dump
o peratio ns when o fflo ading AN 1 x data to an external
MIDI data sto rag e device (such as the Yamaha MDF2
MIDI Data Filer) o r ano ther AN 1 x. Bulk dump
o peratio ns let yo u back up yo ur impo rtant vo ice, Free
EG , pattern and system data fo r safekeeping , and then
lo ad them back into the AN 1 x whenever yo u wish.
Before initiating a bulk dump operation, you must set up the external device for
bulk dump send and/ or receive. You’ ll also need to match the Device Number of
the AN1 x and the external device. For information, see the owner’s manual which
came with the external device.

of da ta to be sent.

The Device N umber parameter lets yo u set the MIDI
device number when perfo rming bulk dump o peratio ns,
o r when transmitting and receiving System Exclusive
messag es. Bo th devices sho uld be set to the same
channel number.

Lo ca l
The Lo cal parameter lets yo u desig nate the AN 1 x’s
keybo ard to play the internal to ne g enerato r o r no t.
W hen set to “ o n” , playing the AN 1 x’s keybo ard will
cause the internal to ne g enerato r to so und. W hen set
to “ o ff” , playing the keybo ard will no t play the internal
to ne g enerato r, but will o utput no te data via MIDI
[O UT] to play an external to ne g enerato r o r reco rd into
an external sequencer.
N o rmally this will be set to “ o n” unless yo u are using
the AN 1 x as a master keybo ard co ntro ller fo r
reco rding no te data into an external MIDI sequencer,
and having the o utput o f the sequencer determine
whether the AN 1 x’s to ne g enerato r plays o r no t, by
sig nals received at MIDI [IN ].
