Press the Play Effect Velo city [UP/ DO W N ] switch to set
the ratio between the lo wer and hig her velo city values
o f the Arpeg g iato r pattern, o ver a rang e between 1 %
and 2 0 0 %.
A setting o f “ 1 0 0 %” maintains the o rig inal velo city
relatio nship between the no tes. Lo wer values adjust
velo cities do wnward at playback, and hig her values
adjust velo cities upward at playback. A setting o f
“ real” (Real-time) will cause the velo city values o f the
pattern to be determined by the velo city at which yo u
play the keybo ard.

Yo u can use the MIDI Pattern Transmit Channel (“ PtnTxCh” )
parameter to desig nate a MIDI channel o n which to o utput
the Arpeg g iato r pattern data, to either play an external
to ne g enerato r o r reco rd the data into a MIDI sequencer o r
co mputer.
This setting is independent fro m the MIDI Transmit Channel
(“ MIDI Tx Ch” ) setting in the UTILITY SETUP menu (see
pag e 9 3 ), but yo u can either set them bo th to the same
channel o r different channels, depending o n yo ur
requirements. The diag ram belo w sho ws an example o f
ho w they can be set to different channels to co ntro l two
different external to ne g enerato rs.

y ou a ccess to the events in a specific step w hen
the [EDIT RO TARY] sw itch is set to the SEQ
EDIT/ SETUP m enu.
Each o f the 1 2 8 vo ices has its o wn “ Vo ice” Pattern
memo ry fo r sto ring a sing le sequence. There is also a
separate bank o f 1 2 8 “ User” Patterns. Patterns can be
trig g ered fro m the keybo ard in a variety o f ways.
The specific Step Sequencer-related parameters are
available in the SEQ EDIT/ SETUP menu. Also , Pattern
N umber, Keybo ard Mo de, Ho ld, Scene Switch and Play
Effect parameters in the VO ICE ARPEG G IO / SEQ menu
have special functio ns related to the Step Sequencer. O ther
setting s which will have a bearing o n yo ur sequences
include Tempo and Po ly mo de setting s, and depending o n
Layer mo de, the Split Po int assig nment as well.
