Yo u can co nnect the AN 1 x to a MIDI data sto rag e

device, such as the Yamaha MDF2 MIDI Data Filer, in

o rder to “ bulk dump” , o r save AN 1 x vo ice, Step

Sequencer and o ther data to flo ppy disks. This lets yo u

build up co mplete libraries o f yo ur favo rite so unds,

sequences and setting s, which yo u can easily lo ad

back into the AN 1 x whenever yo u wish.

For information about how to perform Bulk Dump operations, see page 9 4 .

Sw itching O n The Pow e r

O nce all co nnectio ns have been pro perly made, yo u’ re

ready to switch o n the po wer and start making music with

yo ur AN 1 x.

1 . Set the AN 1 x ’s [V O LUM E] k nob to m inim um

position.

2 . Press the [PO W ER] sw itch, loca ted on the rea r

pa nel.

After a brief g reeting messag e which appears in the LCD,

the AN 1 x will po wer up and be ready to g o .

3 . Gra dua lly turn the [V O LUM E] k nob to the

right w hile pla y ing the k ey boa rd until y ou
a chieve a com forta ble listening level.

is. To select a nd pla y  a  Dem o, perform  the
follow ing opera tion:

1 . Press the [PO RTAM EN TO ] a nd [LAYER]

sw itches sim ulta neously. The w ord “ DEM O ”
w ill a ppea r in the LCD.

2 . Press a PRO GRAM CHAN GE sw itch (0 - 9 ) to

select one of the 1 0 Dem o songs. After a
brief m om ent the Dem o song w ill begin, a nd
continue pla y ing until the end.

3 . W hen the Dem o is finished, sim ply press

[-/ N O ] to return to norm a l opera ting sta tus.

The Demo song will continue playing repeatedly until you stop it. You can stop the

Demo song in the middle of play by pressing [ -/ NO] .
