Sce ne Loa d Functi on
The Scene Lo ad functio n lets yo u lo ad Scene data fro m a
Scene in any vo ice to the co rrespo nding Scene in the
currently selected vo ice. This lets yo u, fo r example, lo ad
the Scene 1 parameters o f o ne vo ice to Scene 1 o f the
currently selected vo ice, and lo ad the Scene 2 parameters
o f ano ther vo ice to Scene 2 o f the currently selected vo ice.
1 . Hold [SCEN E 1 ] (or [SCEN E 2 ]) a nd enter the
num ber of the voice w hose Scene da ta y ou
w a nt to copy. The selected voice num ber
fla shes in the LCD.
2 . Press [YES/ EN TER] to ex ecute the Scene Loa d
opera tion, or [N O ] to ca ncel it.

The Scene Swap functio n lets yo u exchang e the data in
o ne Scene edit buffer with the o ther.
1 . Hold [STO RE] a nd press both [SCEN E 1 ] a nd
[SCEN E 2 ] sw itches. “ SURE?[Y/ N ]” fla shes in
the LCD.
2 . Press [YES/ EN TER] to ex ecute the Scene Sw a p
opera tion, or [N O ] to ca ncel it.

Se le cting La ye r M ode s
The LAYER sw itch is used for selecting a La y er
m ode from the six a va ila ble. Every tim e y ou
press the sw itch, a different La y er m ode is
selected. The selected La y er a t the tim e of a
Voice Store opera tion is sa ved a s voice da ta .
Each Layer mo de determines ho w N o te O n messag es fro m
either the AN 1 x’s keybo ard o r external MIDI devices (as
received at the AN 1 x’s MIDI [IN ] terminal) are handled.
Depending o n which Layer mo de is selected, either o ne o r
bo th Scenes will be played, and the Scene Co ntro l
functio n will behave in specific ways. The selected Layer
also affects available po lypho ny, and determines
multitimbral status.
La ye r M ode s
SI N G LE
This is the no rmal play mo de fo r a vo ice. The so und is
determined by the data o f the currently selected Scene.
In this mo de the AN 1 x plays with maximum 1 0 no tes
po lypho ny.
UN I SO N
This mo de is g reat fo r g etting tho se “ fat” analo g -type
so unds o f the leg endary vintag e synths. In Uniso n
mo de, the data o f the currently selected Scene is
multiplied. Po lypho ny is determined by the Po ly mo de
setting (see pag e 7 2 ). Fo r example, if Po ly mo de is set
to “ mo no ” o r “ leg ato ” , then o ne N o te O n messag e will
use five no tes o f po lypho ny; if it is set to “ po ly” , then
o ne N o te O n messag e will use two no tes o f po lypho ny.
The Unison Detune function ( see page 7 6 ) lets you decide the detuning for the
Unison in order to fatten the sound.
