Pressing the [SYN C/ FM] KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP
switch lets yo u use the CO N TRO L kno bs to access the
parameters which affect the " master" and " slave"
o scillato rs which are part o f the VCO 1 , as well as
co nfig ure ho w the FM (Frequency Mo dulatio n) sig nal is
applied to the master and/ o r slave o scillato rs. W hen
the " sync" is enabled VCO 1 literally beco mes two
o scillato rs in o ne, with the slave synced to the master.
By turning CO N TRO L kno b 1 yo u can co nfig ure the
sync Alg o rithm, which either turns o ff the sync and
makes o nly the FM sig nal available, o r lets yo u apply
the FM sig nal to either master o r slave o r bo th
o scillato rs. CO N TRO L kno b 2 lets yo u access the Sync
Pitch parameter to create a difference in pitch between
the master and slave o scillato rs and co ntro l the
resulting harmo nic interval. O ther parameters available
let yo u apply mo dulatio n to the VCO 1 o scillato rs with
the LFO 1 and o ther waves.
For details about the [ SYNC/ FM] parameters, see page 5 8 .
PEG
Pressing the [PEG / LFO ] KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP
switch let yo u use the CO N TRO L kno bs to access
parameters which co ntro l the Pitch Envelo pe G enerato r
(PEG ), which determines ho w the pitch o f a vo ice
chang es o ver time— fro m when a key is pressed, held,
then release, and ho w lo ng it takes fo r the so und to
terminate. CO N TRO L kno b 2 lets yo u set the PEG
Depth, o r pitch in semito nes. CO N TRO L kno b 1 lets
yo u adjust the PEG Decay, o r time required fo r the
so und to reach its basic pitch fro m the PEG Depth
setting . CO N TRO L kno b 3 lets yo u set the PEG Switch
to determine which VCO the PEG is applied to .
For more information about PEG Depth, PEG Decay, and PEG Switch parameters,

Pressing the [VCF] KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch
g ives yo u access to the vo ltag e co ntro lled filter
parameters, which let yo u determine the characteristics
o f the to ne, o r timbre o f the vo ice, and co nfig ure the
Filter Envelo pe G enerato r (FEG ).
V CF Cut o f f A nd Re so na nce
By turning CO N TRO L kno b 5 yo u can set the cuto ff
frequency o f the VCF Type (as desig nated in the
MIX/ VCF g ro up), which determines the po int at which
specified frequencies are passed o r cut o ff— i.e.,
filtered o ut. CO N TRO L kno b 6 lets yo u bo o st the
harmo nics near the cuto ff frequency to apply
reso nance. These two parameters are critical in
determining the timbre o f the vo ice.
FEG
CO N TRO L kno bs 1 -4 let yo u determine the Attack,
Decay, Sustain and Release values, respectively, to g ive
yo u precisio n co ntro l o ver ho w the timbre o f the vo ice
chang es o ver time— fro m when a key is pressed, held,
then released, and subsequently ho w lo ng it takes fo r
the so und to terminate. CO N TRO L kno b 7 lets yo u set
the FEG Depth, o r rang e o f mo vement o f the cuto ff
frequency.
For more information about [ VCF] parameters, see page 6 4 .
