A proprietary DSP technique enables hum measurements on
modulated carriers (non-scrambled channels).

SAM 4040D can measure the 1 Hz hum component. To activate this
feature, set the fundamental hum frequency in the

Config,

Measurement

screen to 1 Hz. The filter options on the Hum display

will then become; 1 Hz, <50 Hz, and, <1 kHz.

NOTE: The <1 kHz setting does not include the 1 Hz component, it
only includes 50 to 1,000 Hz.

Hum measurements taken while the

desktop charger is in use will affect the Hum reading. For the most
accurate reading disconnect the charger prior to taking Hum
measurements
