and for UNIT1, the channels are configured in exactly the same way, but with destination mappings back
to UNIT0.
Once a suitable signal is acquired on the Inmarsat terminal and the V100 equipment is configured, the
ISDN port should be connected to the RJ45 port of the V100 ISDN terminal adaptor using a straight 8-way
CAT5 cable.
When a telephone handset is lifted at either multiplexer, the ISDN number of the remote will be dialled,
the ISDN call will be made via the Inmarsat terminal and the multiplexers will establish carrier over the
ISDN service. The TEST LED (or Option 0 LED on RevD units) will illuminate GREEN to indicate an active
ISDN call and the telephone at the remote site will ring. Note also that the remote logon facility will also
cause the ISDN service to be used, as will the mapping of a data channel from one unit to the other. The
latter will cause the ISDN call to be permanently active unless the channel is async with infrequent data,
allowing the ISDN call to be dropped in between bursts of data.
