The V100 supervisor communication port normally runs at 9600bps. To help ensure the quickest FLASH
programming it is recommended that the “Upspeed” value be configured as high as possible (115,200)
with “Windowing” checked. However, you may need to select a slower rate and switch windowing off
(leave the box unchecked) if you are using an older PC. When “Windowing” is switched on, multiple
records are sent together instead of each one being sent individually. This can significantly improve the
transfer speed, especially on remote downloads.
Next select the I.D. of the unit to program. By default, the locally connected unit is the download target
but by checking the “Remote” box it is possible to enter the Node I.D. of any remote chassis. When doing
this it is advisable to enable windowing, again by checking the box, to allow FLASH to optimise the speed
of transfer consistent with any link delay. Finally, select the COM port.
