The DATA menu
All data ports on the V100 are considered to be universal. Any port may be configured
as an aggregate or a tributary, as DTE or DCE, as sync or async and with a wide
variety of clocking options. There is considerable flexibility built in to the V100 data
channels; for this reason, the user should clearly understand the implications of all
configuration options.
CHANNEL
The two data channels resident in the chassis and any additional channels present on Quad Data Cards
(VI68705) are all presented on the same menu page. The slot number and channel number distinguish
the position of the channel within the chassis.
IFACE
The electrical interface standard used by each port must be selected according to the equipment to be
connected. In the V100, all standards use the same 15-way D-sub connector and are adapted to the
conventional connector format using an external cable (see Appendix B)
