This is not a problem if the new and old retention periods are of about the
same value. However, if you make a major change to a retention period (for
example, from one week to infinity), it is best to suspend the volumes that
were previously used for that retention level. To do this, proceed as follows:
1. Use the NetBackup Media List report to determine which volumes are
currently at the level that you are going to suspend.
2. Use the
bpmedia
command to suspend the volumes.
bpmedia -suspend -ev

Servers Tab
The Servers properties tab defines the NetBackup server list on each host that
was selected when you opened this dialog box. The server list for each host
appears in the Master Servers and Additional Servers sections of the list box on
this tab and shows the NetBackup servers that the host recognizes. Change the
lists as follows:
• To add a name to all lists, see “Add to All Lists” on page 477.
• To delete a name from all lists, see “Remove From All lists” on page 477.
• To change the master server in all lists, see “Select as Master server in All
Lists” on page 477.”
Right clicking when the pointer is in the Hosts, Master Servers, or Additional
Servers fields displays a shortcut menu with commands that apply to that
field.
The following topics explain the settings on this tab.
Note:
If you change the server list on the master server, exit all NetBackup
administrator interface programs. Then, stop and restart both the NetBackup
request service and NetBackup Database Manager service on that server This
ensures that the change is recognized.
