Where:
• localhost is the local system.
• remotehost.txt contains the responses for the remote system named
remotehost.
There is a remotehost.
txt
file for each remote system that can request
authentication. These files are created during installation and only root on the
local system can read or write these files.
CAUTION !
Protect the
unhashed
files by allowing access only by root on the
local system. Also, do not NFS mount them on UNIX or place them on a
network drive on Windows NT.
The
bpauthsync
command synchronizes the information between the
hashed
files on the local host with the
unhashed
files on remote systems. This enables
the remote host to offer the correct response when it is challenged. The
following figure illustrates this exchange between Windows NT systems.
