Configuring Your Library
Setting the Date and Time
The
Setup Wizard: Date and Time
screen allows you to set the date and time for the library. You can also
access the
Date and Time
screen by selecting it from the
Setup
menu on either the operator panel or the
web client.
Date and time settings are used to log the date and time events take place and to set the time for automatic
backup and restore functions. At a minimum, you should set the library’s date and time as part of the initial
library configuration.
The time is set to a 24 hour clock. For example, four o’clock in the afternoon is entered as 16:00. On the
web client
Date and Time
screen, you can also set the time zone. A drop-down menu lists time zones
across the world.
The paths to open the appropriate screens are as follows:
•
From the web client, select
Setup > Date & Time
.
•
From the operator panel, select
Setup > Date & Time
.
Managing the Network
The
Network Management
screens contain three tabs:
•
SSL
•
Trap Registration
•
SNMP Version
Administrative users can use the operator panel to modify the network management settings at any time.
The network management settings cannot be set on the web client, but the settings are viewable in a
read-only format under the
Reports
menu.
Note
The library automatically adjusts for daylight savings time if the time zone is set
on the web client. There is no need to manually reset the clock for time
changes.
Note
This operation cannot be performed concurrently by multiple administrative
users logged in from different locations. You can access the screen, but you
cannot apply changes while another administrative user is performing the same
operation.
CAUTION
Security settings must be enabled to allow SNMP, SMI-S, and IP
address access to the library network. After applying any of the
settings on the Network Management tabs, verify the settings on the
Security Settings screen. See
Configuring Library Security Settings
on page 52.
