When you purchase a COD slot upgrade, Tandberg Data issues you an Authorization Code Certificate
containing a code that enables you to retrieve your COD license key from the Tandberg Data Capacity
Upgrade website. You can then activate your COD slot upgrade by loading the license key on the library
through the operator panel or web client (see

Applying License Keys

on page 43).

Details about the COD license key include:

•

An authorization code to obtain a license key can be used one time only.

•

A single license key can only be applied once and cannot be transferred to another library. The key
is verified when it is applied to the library to make sure it has not been previously used. In addition,
the license key is verified against the library to make sure that it is not allocated for more resources
than what physically exist in the library.

•

The license key may contain up to 12 alphanumeric characters. The license key can also contain
the at (@), dash (-), or underscore ( _ ) symbols. Alpha characters must be lowercase. The user
interface automatically converts entries to lowercase.

•

The license key is associated with the serial number of the 5U control module. If you must replace
your control module for some reason, you will need to request a replacement license key from
Tandberg Data.

•

You will also need to request a replacement license key if you replace your library control blade
(LCB) compact flash card. The LCB compact flash card contains information about your library
configuration, including licensed features.

To obtain your COD license key for a COD slot upgrade:

Contact your Tandberg Data technical sales representative to submit your order for a COD slot
upgrade. You can purchase license keys in 46-slot increments. For contact information, see

on page 2.

Upon receipt of your order for a COD slot upgrade, Tandberg Data will ship you an Authorization Code
Certificate containing your COD authorization code.

On your library, locate the Serial Number. You will need the Serial Number to retrieve your license key
from the COD website. To view the Serial Number:

Access the Tandberg StorageLibrary T128 Capacity Upgrade website at
http://www.license.tandberg.com/t128.

The Capacity Upgrade website allows you to enter your authorization code and your library's Serial
Number.

In the

Serial Number

box, enter your Serial Number.

Click Submit.

If you have entered a valid Serial Number, the website prompts you to enter your authorization code for
the COD slot upgrade.

Following the on-screen instructions, enter your authorization code.

If you have entered a valid authorization code, the website allows you to retrieve the license key for your
COD slot upgrade.

Following the on-screen instructions, retrieve your new license key.
