Assembly Adjustment (Crane Operation)
65
WY05-4112E
2. Extend the cylinders with the counterweight. (The
counterweight is lowered.) Check the stroke
difference between the right and left cylinders.
An extending cylinder is assumed to reach its
stroke end when the bottom of the counterweight
touches the plate of the counterweight mount.
(When extending the cylinders, check the
clearance E in the picture below.)
3. To measure the remaining stroke, stop the
cylinder telescoping operation when the cylinder
telescoping faster reaches its stroke end.
When checking the remaining retraction stroke,
check the remaining stroke of the cylinder
retracting slower (check the clearance D).
When checking the remaining extension stroke,
check the remaining stroke of the cylinder
extending slower (check the clearance E).
[NOTICE]
If the stroke difference between the right and left
cylinders is 20 mm (0.8 in) or less, adjustment is not
necessary. If the difference exceeds 20 mm (0.8 in),
adjust as follows:
•
If the adjustment without the counterweight as
described in 3.1 is skipped when the remaining
stroke is 30 mm (1.2 in) or less, tighten the choke
bolt on the cylinder telescoping faster until it seats.
Then turn it back with 30° increment, and add a little
turning to reduce the stroke difference between the
right and left cylinders to 20 mm (0.8 in) or less.
•
If the cylinder adjusted without the counterweight as
described in 3.1 is faster, tighten the choke bolt
which has been adjusted without the counterweight;
if it is slower, loosen the choke bolt which has been
adjusted without the counterweight. Then adjust so
that the stroke difference between the right and left
cylinders is 20 mm (0.8 in) or less.
•
If the faster cylinder in extending operation differs
from the one in retracting operation and both of the
stroke difference between the right and left
cylinders fail to be within 20 mm (0.8 in), adjust so
that the stroke difference between the right and left
cylinders is 20 mm (0.8 in) or less by extending
operation. In this case, check that the stroke
difference between the right and left cylinders is
30 mm (1.2 in) or less by retracting operation.
4. After the adjustment, fix the choke bolt with lock
nuts.
After the choke bolt is fixed, check again if the
stroke difference between the right and left
cylinders is 20 mm (0.8 in) or less.
Once the cylinder adjustment with the
counterweight is finished, the adjustment without
the counterweight is not necessary.
