2. Boom clearance adjustment
[NOTICE]
The term “minimum clearance” means the
clearance to which the thinnest provided shim
cannot be inserted.
2.1 Shim adjustment at the telescoping cylinder
guide
(Section [1])
(1) In width direction, both positions of slide plates
shall be kept symmetry against the boom center.
And the dimension A shall be adjusted to
401 ± 0.5 mm (15.79 ± 0.02 in).
The positions should be adjusted by inserting the
shims between the slide plate and the guide.
(2) The dimension B which is from the top surface of
the lower slide plate to B-pin center shall be
287 ± 1 mm (11.30 ± 0.04 in). The plate position
shall be adjusted by inserting the shims.
(3) The dimension C between the upper and lower
slide plate shall be 164 ± 0.5 mm (6.46 ± 0.02 in).
The adjustment of the dimension shall be by
inserting shims to the upper slide plate side.
(4) Apply a thread locking agent (ThreeBond 1401 or
the equivalent) to the bolt.
(5) After assembling of boom, the each gap between
the center of the top section and the center of
another section shall be 1 mm (0.04 in) or less.
(6) Maximum misalignment of the each guide plane
(X-plane) height shall be 1 mm (0.04 in) or less.
