CHASSIS 8-33

REMOVAL

• Loosen the axle nut

• Raise the rear wheel off the ground and support the motorcy-

cle with a jack or wooden block.

• Remove the axle nut

and draw out the rear axle

• With the rear wheel

moved forward, remove the drive chain

from the sprocket

• Remove the rear brake caliper assembly

by moving it rear-

ward.

• Pull the rear wheel

rearward.

NOTE:
Do not operate the brake pedal with the rear wheel removed.

• Remove the collar

• Remove the brake disc

• Remove the spacer

• Loosen the rear sprocket nuts.
• Draw out the rear sprocket mounting drum

from the wheel

hub and separate the rear sprocket

from the mounting

drum

Make sure that the motorcycle is supported securely.
