THROTTLE CABLE PLAY
• Adjust the throttle cable play

as follows.
• Slide the boot

• Loosen the lock-nut

of the throttle pulling cable.
• Turn the adjuster

clockwise or counterclockwise until the
throttle cable play (at the throttle grip)

is between 2.0 – 4.0
mm (0.08 – 0.16 in).
• Tighten the lock-nut

while holding the adjuster

ENGINE IDLE SPEED
• Warm up the engine.
• Inspect the engine idle speed. If the engine idle speed is not
within the specified range, check the ISC system. (


Engine idle speed: 1 400 ± 100 r/min
Inspect initially at 5 000 km (3 000 miles, 15 months)
and then every 10 000 km (6 000 miles, 30 months)
thereafter.
Inspect initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 3 months) and
every 5 000 km (3 000 miles, 15 months) thereafter.
After the adjustment is completed, check that handle-
bar movement does not raise the engine idle speed
and that the throttle grip returns smoothly and auto-
matically.
