7.21 REPLACING RIBBON SENSOR (cont’d)
To replace the sensor of the ribbon rewinder

step 4
to
step 7
of
Section 7.5 Replacing Ribbon Feed Roller, Oneway Clutch and Torque
Limiter
to remove the
Ribbon frame
and
Timing belt 60 S2M 254
from the printer. Set all the parts aside
for reassemble.
10.
Detach the
ribbon rewind spindle assembly
from the printer frame by following the procedures in
step 4
and
step 5
of
Section 7.7 Replacing Torque Limiter (Ribbon Rewinder), Oneway Limiter and Oneway
Clutch
.
11.
Locate the
Ribbon rewinder sensor assembly
attached to the
print frame
.
12.
Remove a
screw
(10) securing the
ribbon rewinder sensor assembly
to the print frame. Disconnect the
wiring harness
of the
Ribbon rewinder sensor
(11) from the mechanism side of the printer.
13.
Remove two
screws
(12) to detach the
Ribbon rewinder sensor
(11) from the
sensor bracket (ribbon)
(13). Replace the defective
Ribbon rewinder sensor
(11) as necessary and reverse the above proce-
dures for reassembly.
Note:
Insert the
wiring harness
firmly and arrange the
wiring harnesses
to ensure that they are not
pinched during installation.

After replacement, check the Ribbon end sensor condition based on
Section 6.11.1 To check Ribbon
End.
