The SOURCE section (bottom half of the window)
displays the first record in the source file, arrayed
horizontally in the window.
Note: If the source record is too long to fit into the
window, choose the left or right scroll arrow to view it.
To see the next record, click on the down arrow to the
left of the record window.

Choose the File Formats button in the lower left of the
window.

If the source record has field separators:
a
Choose Delimited Text.

If the sample record shows quotations marks or other
delimiters surrounding the text strings, choose the
appropriate delimiter from the popup list in the Text
Delimiter field.

Select the symbol that separates the fields in the record
from the popup list in the Field Separator field. Note
that a colored, numbered bar appears over the group.
The number serves as a field identifier, which you will
use later in this process.
If the source record does
not have field separators:

In the File Format window, choose Fixed Width Text.

Trash appears in the upper right
corner of the SOURCE section of the window.

Use the mouse to break down the source record into
separate fields. To do so, hold down the left mouse
button in the sample record window and drag from left
to right, releasing the mouse button wherever you
want the field break to occur. Each time you highlight a
group of characters, a colored, numbered bar appears
over the group. The number serves as a field identifier,
which you will use later in this process.
Note: If you make an error in highlighting a field, drag
the numbered bar to the Trash icon, then reidentify the
desired field.
