card history database A database that contains a text
record for every ID-4000 transaction that affects an
applicant record. Each record in the card history
database is a duplicate of a record stored in the applicant
database, except it does not contain a portrait or other
images. These records contain data about the type of
transaction, the date and time of the transaction, and the
user who was logged into the system when the
transaction took place.
character A single letter, numeral, or symbol displayed
in a window.
check box A small, square box that appears as a
selection in a window. When you place the mouse cursor
in the box and click the left mouse button, it toggles the
selection of the check box. A check box is selected when
an “X” appears in the box. A check box is unselected
when there is no “X” in the box.
choose To use the mouse or keyboard to select an item
that begins an action or performs a task.
click To press and release a mouse button quickly.
Control menu A menu that contains commands that
you use to manipulate a window or dialog box, including
Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, Close, Switch
to, and Run. To open the Control menu, you choose the
Control menu box at the upper left corner of the window
or dialog box. Not all windows and dialog boxes have
Control menus.
Control menu box The icon at the top of a window or
dialog box, to the far left of the title bar. To close a
window or dialog box, you double-click the Control
menu box. Not all windows and dialog boxes have
Control menu boxes.
cross-reference table Used in data entry windows of
some ID-4000 systems to help make data entry faster
